When Detta and Heather showed up at work wearing gorgeous hand felted poppies for Remembrance Day, I couldn't take my eyes off them and it's prompted the return of my old love of knitting and crochet. I find it difficult to bead in front of the television and end up feeling like I'm wasting time. Voila! Crochet! I can do that in front of the tube. And so I did last night. And I cannot resist a huge corny flower.
This pin is two flowers sewn together, one black, one in red and pink, from a pattern adapted from a Goodhousekeeping needlework book. The leaves are free-form...attached to the backs of stitches at the back. In the center, I've sewn some black glass droplets and there is a brooch pin sewn on the reverse. The yarn is very fine (2 ply, I think) cotton.
When stumped and stale - switch mediums - that's my motto. Thanks to Detta and Heather for the inspiration.

I love the bright colours!
Hi BB, LB. Thanks - and I like the bright colors too. Fun to crochet after...oh...15 years or so?
LOL!
When stumped and stale! Hah! I have a hard time believing anything about you could EVER get stale! ;)
Funny enough, I made the little one a crocheted poppy this year too! She wanted to wear one just like everyone else, but doesn't like the usual ones, as the straight pin once poked her 'beeble'... lol! So, I made her one
Love this lovely multi-layered flower. It reminds me a lot of YOU! :D
and PS: I have fulfilled my tagging duties :)
