Spring Conjunction

I've actually logged my hours for this 3.5" x 6" cuff - and I'm at 30 hours, with just the backing left to sew on. Faster than I thought. I love deadlines because they make me get off my butt - and this was done for a Wearable Art Show that raises money for AIDS research. I had about three weeks of work time and am coming in five days early. I've been stitching on lunch hours, evenings and before I'm out of my PJs in the morning. I started out intending a more subtle color scheme but, apparently, I'm just not a subtle kind of person - either that or the craving for Spring to come has driven me mad for color. At any rate, I'm pleased with the result and hope you like it!

woohoo...I love it! And you're fast! My two cuffs came in at around 40 hours each...you did good!
I hope the hope of spring keeps driving you mad for color if this is the type of results that come of it!
(did it help to have the bead room all organized?)

Glorious, just glorious. And it is truely wearable art.
How's your eyesight after all this work lj?

Wow, that seems quick for such an intricate design.

I put in around 400 hours on my last piece. :0

Hi Folks!
BB - 30 more or less. I forgot to write down times here and there, but overall I was pretty good about it. I deducted time for ripping out patches (I take a penalty there for beading before I think) I've just received some wonderful whites and eggshells & may try going in the opposite direction now.

Thanks Dulcey. I believe that my Virgo bits insist that art "do" something a lot of the time - & my pisces bits want to play, so it's a great form for both.

Hello H, darlin' - My eyesight is holding. Don't ask about anything else though...like my butt, or my memory.

Thanks Christina!

LB - You are in a category of your own. And don't you mostly use size 15 beads? I've got some 15s in there and can attest to the fact that they take twice as long. My designs, also, don't even approach the intricacy of yours. Not to mention that you're doing representational stuff - like painting with beads and you do layered stuff, too.

Hello there artandtea. I love them too. I'm STARVED for color. Live on the Atlantic coast and the primary color this time of year is grey.

Best compliment in the world, H. And I was inspired by a fabulous fiber artist's coat. Pass it along, huh?
