Introduction & Welcome (new entries added below)

This blog serves as an online gallery of my work and, hopefully, a place to connect with the similarly obsessed.
Clicking "archives" or "older posts" or "photos & opinions" links on the right hand side will bring up more photos.

I welcome comments and email. Please make yourself at home. (New entries below)

I love the collage photo! Is the radiant photo yours or the photographers?

Hi BB...These are all the photographers. Mostly the "raw" jpgs. His finished ones are in a different format and I haven't got them all transferred to my poorly functioning home computer. The best ones were detail and collage shots, I thought.
I must admit I have an awful fondness for detail, too. Somehow, a small detail seems to better capture the piece than the whole item.

I wondered where you were off too and I see it was up to all good! GORGEOUS!

Looking forward to seeing your new creations under this adorable new name.

Teantae! Thanks. The name makes me laugh...and I'm glad you visited!

LJ, just wondering, did U have to change the look of your blog, and name, etc...on the new Beta Blogger??

LJ said...

Hi LB. I read the Blogger Help Group Forum and didn't like the number of times I saw people howling about losing their blog when they switched, or losing access or archives etc. Some people found it painless - but any special formatting was lost. I decided to start fresh with both the beading and writing blog...
So far, they seem to be fixing problems with the Beta version pretty quickly and there's more room for html dummies to play with templates. I tried about six and stayed with a version of the simple
"minima" template.
If you're thinking about moving to Beta, I'd read blogger forum - and remember that people are impatient and the Blogger folks are still working...

This is lovely! I adore this combination of colors.

The portrait "speaks to me", but I dare not speak on her behalf--
for she bids me, 'be still'.

LJ said...

PF, thanks. I was on such a run of ambers and purples. Still buying those colors.
Chuck..It's odd how it happened. The first thing I imagined was the figure...standing not quite all the way in the frame. I had to come up with the technique for her so that she'd be as accurately rendered as a drawing. But - I had no idea what her face would look like. I drew the simplest cartoon to use as a pattern and her face, from there, drew itself.
It's a happy stillness, isn't it?

Very interesting. The image is like pointilist painting, only in 3-D!! Very good work, LJ. Not only will I be keeping up with this page, I may also look into trying my hand at this beading stuff myself...

Thank D. It's meditative, beading - you might like it. Some of the best bead artists are men, you know.

Thank Beadbytes. Dropped by to see you at your "house".

How long did it take you to make this?
