Heart of Glass

This cuff measures 7.25 inches x 3 inches (at center). Size 11 & 15 beads, with one of Leslie Dana's gorgeous dichroic glass cabs at the center. I'd debated using a vermeil clasp but in the end, there was already so much color and pattern that I decided on a largely invisible closure. As with all my embroidered cuffs, it's backed with ultrasuede.

I'm excitedly waiting for three more of Leslie's cabs to arrive, so I hope to have new work to post again soon. Hope you're all having a wonderful spring!

Thanks, Sarah. I had a b*tch of a time getting a photo without all that shine refracting back and making a big fat blur!

wonderful!
(and how did you do it? I can't seem to get the light to stop bouncing around and blurring the beads!)

BB, Hi! I have almost see-through thin white cotton curtains. I shoot in natural light, usually late afternoon - best on an overcast day, with no flash. Anything that's semi-transparent white can be used as a filter. It's still not as clear as a pro can get it, but I was pleased there wasn't too much light bouncing back to see it. At "Beadweaver" she has a link on one side to an article that gives instructions for making a camera set up. The cab designer of this focal sets her glass pieces in the bottom of a plastic semi-transparent milk jug and she turns the white setting lower on her camera. Mostly, I hack at it in every light until one comes out. I wish I was good enough to get it in a single shot!
And PS! Your photos always look perfect to me.
